Scientists find secret to growing ridiculously huge pumpkins

Scientists say the bigger the gourd gets the more stress it experiences and triggers the pumpkin to grow. The weight generates tension which pulls cells apart and accelerates growth. Scientists crushed regular pumpkins to see what force they could handle and then applied that to making a bigger pumkin. Plastic deformations allows the fruit to distribute stresses so it can grow, sometimes adding 50lbs a day without breaking. I think this is pointless because they are wasting their money to make something that has no uses, bigger.
